The Kingdom of Pentagram was ruled by the king Pmehal. He had a beautiful daughter named Sona. When she was old enough the king decided to find a suitable match for her.
Many strong, young men, from far and wide sought her hand. The king decided that his daughter should marry the strongest and bravest of them. He asked all the suitors to assemble on a particular day beside the lake in the nearby forest.
At the appointed hour, when they had all assembled, the king announced. “Whoso-ever first swims across this lake to the opposite bank shall marry my daughter!”.
All the men got ready to jump into the lake, just then the King said, “Wait!” They stopped.
“The lake is full of crocodiles,” he warned. Upon hearing this nobody was brave enough to jump and stood still at the edge of the lake.
All of a sudden, there was a splash. One of the suitors was swimming rapidly to the opposite bank. While he fought the crocodiles with much effort, he reached the bank, bleeding profusely and one of his fingers was gored by a crocodile.
The king was dump-struck at his courage. He offered his daughter's hand to the brave suitor.
The suitor said angrily.
“Who pushed me into the water”?
The king was dumb-founded and didn't know what to do!.
